Farjana Akhtar L.M.S.W

The journey to find one's healing is an essential process of growth. My goal is to help guide and support individuals on their journey to heal through a non-judgmental, emphatic and compassionate approach. I am passionate about creating safe spaces, which will lead to collaborative work to unpack and process life experiences.

I was born, raised and licensed to practice in NYC. As a first-generation Muslim daughter of immigrants of South Asian descent; I carry my identity and hold power to the identity of individuals to help navigate through life experiences such as intergenerational differences, childhood trauma, anxiety, depression and grief. I utilize a trauma informed, social justice and strength-based framework to create an approach that will work best for individuals.
